Setting Developmentally Appropriate Limits

( this is a 2 part series)

Date: Nov 21st & Dec 1st

Time: 7:15-9:30 pm

Venue: Great World City Serviced Apartments, Lounge, 2 Kim Seng Walk

Fee: $175

Do you struggle with setting limits with your child/children?? Are your children sending your nerves to their limit??? Well…these 2 evening workshops could be for you!!! Whether you are a parent or professional, come and gain valuable/developmental knowledge, and tools to set “appropriate” limits that will speak for LIFE to your child/children!!! Oftentimes as parents and professionals, we react first…which leads to inconsistency, increased behaviors, and ultimately creates tension in our precious relationships with our children. Topics to be discussed will include, setting limits with young children around daily routines, TV, iPads, bedtime, meals, school work, play dates, as well as for the older child, pre-teen, and teen!!! As our children age and progress developmentally, it is critical to stay on top of when, where, and how they need limit setting. These topics will include, social life, academics, inappropriate language, “drama” as opposed to young child tantrums, sibling relationships, and overall family behavior. Come and gain insight for now, and later!!! Let’s learn to “set limits” for LIFE!!!!

Untangling the Mystery of Sensory Processing and Emotional Well-Being in Your Developing Teen

Date: November 23

Time: 7:15-9:30 pm

Venue: Great World City Serviced Apartments, Lounge, 2 Kim Seng Walk

Fee: $100

Come out and spend an evening in an interactive and informative talk that will not only deepen your knowledge of the impact of sensory processing and your developing teen's emotional quotient, but will also open your heart to some of the most positive, powerful years of your teen's life. In this talk, we will discuss how sensory processing issues impact a teen's emotional processing causing some miscommunications, and often negative behaviors toward parents and other adults. A brief overview of the sensory systems will be described, as well as the emotional milestones "expected" during these teen years. (11-16 yrs. old) Then we will discuss the Parental Connection strategy of ushering our teens through this time period, and ensuring that they feel BELIEVED in and Cared for!!! (This is OFTEN a mis-perception of our children who have come from a developmental history of delays and challenges, or are currently experiencing these!!)

The Power of EQ (Emotional Quotient) & Engagement to Drive IQ!

Date: December 5

Time: 7:15-9:30 pm

Venue: Great World City Serviced Apartments, Lounge, 2 Kim Seng Walk

Fee: $100

At the HEART of every parent, lies two main desires for their child/children!!! We want them to be happy, and to find a place in the world to give back as a source of passion and income!! When one or both of these desires meet difficulty on our child’s developmental journey…we can often resort to “go mode,” and MISS the most important reason they came to be our child….They came to BE in relationship with us, to learn how to relate, communicate, and participate in life the way they were created to!!! In this seminar, we will learn to identify with our own EQ and IQ, and how this affects the development of our child’s EQ. We will look at children’s neurological roadmaps, identifying the correlations between sensory, emotional, and academic differences. We will discuss HOW to increase emotional processing, in an effort to become the power source that lights up a child’s neural switchboard!!! Are you a parent/adult that gives a child guidance about the world of emotions,or are you the parent/adult that stays in the world according to non-emotional responses?? Come and discover, while gaining new insights, and tools to enhance your child’s EQ for life!!!

The Impact of Sensory Behaviors on Total Communication

Date: December 7

Time: 7:15-9:30 pm

Venue: Great World City Serviced Apartments, Lounge, 2 Kim Seng Walk

Fee: $100

Are you a parent or professional that “questions” sensory behavior manifestations, and their communicative meanings? This seminar will take you through specific behaviors, their communicative meanings, and how to meet them from a developmental perspective. Children respond BEST when the adults in their lives begin to understand even the “most” inappropriate behaviors, and attend to them in a proactive way to nurture and develop self- regulation!!! When children are “misunderstood” for their sensory seeking behaviors, they often begin to develop negative talk, or isolative behaviors that can get them into social trouble. Come out, and find HOPE in the midst of discovering how to react, respond, and enhance communication!!!
